The first set of photo studies was completed for my Intermediate Design course. Each student was asked to select a quote and design a visual composition around it using their own photography. The images had to be experimental and ultimately combined into a photo composition that reflected the meaning of the chosen quote.
I selected a quote by Martin Luther King Jr., which is featured in the images below. Both photos depict a glass filled with water and food coloring; the second image incorporates one of my abstract paintings to enhance the illusion and add visual depth.
The second set of images was created for my Image and Design course. For this project, we were tasked with designing photo compositions for a promotional poster for the Communications/Graphic Design department. The first composition includes a shot of my hair clip submerged in water. The second combines a photo of one of my paintings with an image of my Nike shoes.
